These are photo's taken by Bill Harle, most of them are of Newcastle city centre and the surrounding areas. It has taken  a great deal of time and patience to get the right conditions, indeed some buildings were boarded up. He asked many in the know when the boarding would be removed so he could get the photo's before the buildings were demolished, so as you can understand it has taken him many years to get them.

Many of the pubs have long since disappeared, others have been changed to look more-- modern? Some buildings like the ones on Blacket Street, with the Post Office and Turners Photographers have been demolished to make way for Eldon Square.

We hope that they will bring back many (hopefully) happy memories and that you will enjoy looking at them again.
